Construction Auditing:  Auditing Beyond Cost and Schedule Risks

Day and Time: Info

CPE: 1.0

Level: Basic

Prerequisite: Basic

Field of Study: Basic

We all know that cost and schedule risk can impact a construction project.  Poor definition and management of scope can also impact the project. But what about other operational risks?  Quality, Environmental, Health & Safety, and Security risks can also have a significant impact on the project. Those risks could lead to fines, delays and, in some cases, complete shutdown of a project.  Not only will that impact the project’s cost and schedule, but it could also keep the project from generating revenue and management’s planned return on investment.

What you will learn:

  1. Learn what to audit during each phase of a construction project

  2. Understand why auditing more than just the cost and schedule can be beneficial

  3. Hear about actual findings and their subsequent root causes

  4. Develop your audit plan to cover more than just cost and schedule risks
